Fertagus Accessible

Fertagus has tried, whenever is possible, promoting the integration of all its customers and responding to their mobility needs.

 

The elimination of barriers, information and communication services have been our priority in order to allow the autonomy and equality of all.

Website

The exhibition of this symbol does not guarantee that Fertagus’ institutional site is 100% accessible, but it shows that in its creation an effort was made to increase accessibility to all users, including individuals with special needs.

Given the principles of perceptibility, operability, robustness and understanding regarding the accessibility of the website, Fertagus’ institutional site has the compliance level  - AA (2nd best criterion of success).

 Acquisition of transportation tickets

  • You can purchase your transportation ticket in one of the 11 ticket offices in Fertagus stations, in automatic vending machines, in ATM (only available for reloads of regular titles) or online via Portal Viva  - https://www.portalviva.pt (only available for reloadings of regular tickets).

Stations

  • Access

All stations served by Fertagus have lifts or ramps for people with disabilities.

  • Fertagus braille train times

The implementation of this action aims to achieve one of the guiding principles of Fertagus while a company directed to all segments of customers including those who suffer from visual impairment. They are available at the stations of Pragal, Corroios, Foros de Amora, Fogueteiro and Coina.

  • Validators

The Fertagus stations that have access doors for validation of tickets are adapted for people with reduced mobility (wheelchairs, push chairs, etc.).

  • Information system

All sound and visual information about the movement of trains available on the platforms.

  • Bicycle parking

All stations served by Fertagus (except Rome-Areeiro) have bicycle parking available near their main entrances.

  • Wi-fi

At Fertagus stations of Pragal and Coina you can now connect to the internet while you´re waiting for the train, through the service zon_fon.

Trains

  • Information system

Fertagus trains are equipped with audible and visual information for passengers, including information of the next stops and the network of transportation at in each station.

  • Reserved seats

All the carriages of Fertagus train have seats reserved for priority customers, these places are identified with appropriate signage and are differentiated with red eat. Also inside the train there are specific places for wheelchairs, these places are available in the first and last carriage of the train where the entrance step is lowered, and these places can be used for baby cars, bikes or luggage, in this order of priority.

  • Transportation of bicycles and animals

Bicycles can travel on the train at any time, except in situations where there is a large crowd of passengers, the maximum number of bikes per train being 4.

Assistance dogs (companions of disabled clients) can travel free and must carry a badge issued by a national or international establishment for training assistance dogs. See the remaining conditions for the transportation of pets here.

Buses

  • Seats reserved for passengers with priority

All Sulfertagus buses have seats reserved for priority customers, those places being identified with appropriate signage.

  • Transportation of  animals

Pets can travel free on buses whenever they are properly closed in a container suitable for transport as hand volume. Assistance dogs (companions of disabled guests) can travel free and must carry a badge issued by a national or international establishment for training assistance dogs.

The transportation of bicycles is not allowed on Sulfertagus buses.

Parking facilities

  •  Seats reserved for customers with priority

All parking facilities provide places for people with reduced mobility and for the priority customers to enjoy those places the vehicle, must display the appropriate badge clearly.

The following Fertagus parking facilities have access to costumers with reduced mobility:

  • Pragal : Covered Car Park 
  • Corroios : Outdoor Park C2 and C5
  • Foros de Amora : Outdoor Park A4
  • Fogueteiro : Outdoor Park F3
  • Coina : Outdoor Park CN 1

  • If you need help to travel you should contact the Fertagus Customer Support by calling (00351) 707 127 127, with 48 hours in advance.
