Fertagus began operating from this station, which quickly revealed high passenger traffic in the city’s northern bank, in 1999.  Its location and accessibility make it a major hub for travelling to various points of the country. Better known as the "Zoo Station", it is managed by REFER. The station is wide and modern station with a shopping area, which include the works of well-known artists like Rogério Ribeiro, José Aurelio and the architectural highlights of Carlos Roxo.
